Who I am

Dr. Rachel Brody (soon to be Burdick), PT, DPT, CBIS

My name is Rachel Brody (soon to be Burdick), and I am a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy dedicated to providing high-quality, individualized care in the comfort of your home.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in the Honors Program from the University of Connecticut in 2016 and my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2019.

I began my career at Spaulding Hospital Cambridge, where I advanced to a Level II Advanced Clinician and developed deep expertise in neurologic and complex medical rehabilitation. In 2022, I earned my Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) credential, reflecting my commitment to evidence-based care for individuals recovering from brain injury.

I later spent a year in Hawaii working at Rehab Hospital of the Pacific, where I treated patients in both outpatient neuro/orthopedic settings and on the inpatient brain injury unit. This experience strengthened my ability to guide patients through all phases of recovery — from early rehabilitation to return to community living.

Upon returning to Boston, I continued working across the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, including inpatient rehabilitation units in Charlestown and Brighton, as well as the Inspire Lab focused on spinal cord injury research and advanced rehabilitation technologies.

In addition to clinical practice, I serve as a lab and clinical instructor at the MGH Institute of Health Professions, teaching courses in neurologic, cardiopulmonary, and geriatric rehabilitation. I also supervise student clinicians in the Institute’s pro bono clinic serving individuals with neurological conditions. Teaching keeps me deeply engaged in current research and continually refining my clinical skills.

I created my in-home practice because I believe physical therapy should be personal, attentive, and grounded in the realities of daily life. In-home care allows me to focus on what truly matters — improving safety, restoring confidence, and maximizing independence in the environment where you live.

I am passionate about helping individuals and families navigate complex medical and neurological conditions with clarity, expertise, and compassion. I would be honored to partner with you in your recovery journey.
